Special

 

This I understand to be a Lycid beetle, Metriorrhynchus species.  It can be seen below being quite interested in the orchid flowers.  The yellow balls on top of the beetle seem to be eggs rather than pollinia.

Jones in his book indicate that these orchids are pollinated by beetles attracted by perfume and nectar.
