Around another hair-raising bend, the smell of brake linnings thick in the air, I was told to stop in no uncertain manner.

Out the passenger window was a colony of monticola's - unfortunately dead!  We looked around and found some partly alive.  Then from across the road we heard the yell of success - here they are!!

On the side of the cutting - a vertical 3m cut were numerous monticola's.

We photographed them and moved on - we saw many that day on the sides of the road.
