It's not often that orchids grow these days in a
suburb of Melbourne.  Housing pressures have
usually wiped out any orchids long ago.
So when we were told of these orchids we
were surprised and of course had to
have a look and photograph them.

We were also told they were not quite the
usual striatum but something quite similar
and were deemed to be a sp. aff.

We await more news!

Photographed in an eastern suburb, 2007.

Update:

2019, the orchids have been recognized
as different and named Pt. nichollsiana
