Heritage Site
Walk Munurru – King Edward River Rock Art |
Notes: Just before leaving the King Edward River campground to head south we decided it would be easier to visit the nearby Aboriginal Art site. This heritage site is 2 km from the King Edward River campground and was called the Bradshaws Rock Art site but is these days more correctly called the Munurru Heritage site. A few minutes later we we at the site and walking up the track to the boulder strewn area. We soon found the first of the many rock art paintings that were there. There are a few ill defined track but generally it's just a wander here and there to see what you can find. One thing we did find were what seemed to be real human skulls from I suppose a very old "burial". It was a very interesting hour that we spent walking around, intrigued and amazed by the these old Aboriginal art paintings. |
