We stopped and looked at a roadside panel information on the local
attractions and decided that a
detour to Meetus Falls sounded interesting. The road in was
initially fine but after the last turn-off the road became quite
pot-holed and required some care in driving. It was a nice car
park, lots of room and the start of the walk was well sign-posted.
The walk was downhill to the falls viewpoint and to make it interesting
for us there were a few different species of orchids flowing. A couple
of these were at the tail end of the season, with flowers not as crisp
as usual. The viewpoint gave you views across the deep canyon to
the falls, which were flowing quite well. For the walk out we just
retraced our steps to the car park. |
