Wineglass Bay Lookout Walk

Back

Notes:

Another great short walk - part of Tasmania's 60 Great Walks.  Walk 56.

This is a very busy area, especially as we were there in peak season, just after Christmas.  It was a great day, lots of sunshine and quite warm.  As there was a registration point we dutifully signed the register and moved off onto our walking track.  Looking up the track you could see the top of the hill, where we assumed the lookout would be, far in the distance.  There are a couple of lookouts along the track looking back over the Great Oyster Bay which provided great sea views.  As you would expect in a tourist area the track was very well signposted, so getting lost was never an option.

At the top of the hill a track leads down to Wineglass Bay, with the lookout being off to the left a short walk away. The lookout provided great views of the area.  We had lunch on the hill top before returning.

A very worthwhile walk.  RA Approved!

Location:  South Eastern Tasmania
