Day - 12       Day-2
07-June-2015
Globus:
Travel to ZION NATIONAL PARK with its dramatic landscape of sculptured canyons and soaring cliffs resembling temples and cathedrals. Your sightseeing tour gives you the chance to experience the park up close and personal. Then, continue into Arizona and the town of Page, nestled on the shores of Lake Powell. Appreciate its majestic beauty on an afternoon CRUISE to Glen Canyon Dam and the "tapestry" walls of Antelope Canyon. (B,D) Optional Antelope Canyon Slot Tour - yes.
We  had our first stop at the Red Canyon Visitors Center and walked around the hoodoos that intrigued us yesterday on the way in to Bryce Canyon.  We continued on to Zion NP, Utah's first National Park.  The road in to the Zion visitors center is through high hills with many twists and turns - a very scenic route.  There is an amazing tunnel carved through a hill of solid rock, 1.7 km long along the way.  The tourist area is full of interesting walks but as we had time limitations we chose the Riverside walk and the more picturesque Kayenta trail to the Emerald Pools and then back to our bus parking area via the Lower Emerald Pools Trail.  Back in the bus we headed for our next rest stop at Kanab and then on to Wahweap Resort on the banks of the Colorado River or more correctly, Lake Powell. That evening we took a cruise on the lake and into Antelope River canyon, returning for a delightful dinner.
