El Questro:
Emma Gorge Walk

Back

Notes:

The Emma Gorge walk is a grade 4 walk covering 3.2 kilometres and takes around 2 hours.  It is billed as the Kimberley's most well known and spectacular gorge.  Well if that's the case we had better do it - right?
We drove to the Emma Gorge resort where the walk starts and ensuring we had water, cameras and a hat.  We headed off along the track.  It follows a creek bed for most of the walk, so it is reasonably flat, but generally quite rocky.  Near the end you must tackle a small uphill section to get the the swimming hole at the end of the walk.  The end is rather nice with a 35 metre droplet waterfall and is enclosed on three sides by sheer cliffs.  Even though it was quite hot, people shivered in the pool, so we decided to sit and enjoy the atmosphere of the area before heading back.
