El Questro: Chamberlain Gorge - Champagne Cruise |

Notes: We arrived at El Questro hot and bothered, but soon had our private campsite, called the Jabiru, booked and we then asked about information on the things that we can do. The superb Chamberlain Gorge cruise was mentioned and we decided to book it and have some relaxing fun. We boarded the boat and slowly headed downstream. Our guide started her rather informative dialogue. We wondered when we would start moving above a walking pace, but we never did. Why? The trip is around 600 metre to the turn around, not very far for a cruise, but it was the length of the gorge and we could travel no further down the Drysdale River. At the turn around point we were served champagne, orange juice, fruit and biscuits. We also got to feed the archer fish, this was a bit of fun. They shot water at food pellets held in our hands which you let go and the archer fish rushed to eat the pellets. On the way out we had a competition to spot wildlife but unfortunately we saw none. So they had a question and answer competition to get a winner and give away some more champagne. Overall, expensive, short, but a whole lot of fun! |
